Allen is a native and lifelong resident of Eastern North Carolina. In 1970, he joined a predecessor of Carolina Professional Consultants as an office accountant and the company’s first full-time computer operator. He presently concentrates his work efforts in the fields of medical and dental consulting, practice management, and practice transitions. He has expertise in human resources and perparation of employee manuals, fringe benefits, individual income tax preparation, and experience with several medical and dental software packages.
Allen became certified in Standard Operating Procedures (CSC) in 1998, qualifying him to lecture, create, and write standard operating procedures for medical and dental practices. In 2008, he received the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and became a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He achieved the designation as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in 2010, and joined the American Association of Professional Coders. He is an active member of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, of which he is a charter member, serving in a Board of Directors capacity for several years. In 2014, he received the WJ Godfrey “Zeke” Gourley award for outstanding support and dedication to the NSCHBC organization.
Allen has been involved in community activities by serving as a Webelos leader and member of the Troop Committee of local Scout Troop 41. He is a life member of the United States Power Squadron where he was awarded the Tony Carey Award for outstanding contributions to the advancement of the Kinston Power Squadron. His hobbies include boating and woodworking. He has a small woodworking shop where he enjoys building clocks and small projects.
He and his wife, Susan, have two children, Brian and Megan, and two precious grandchildren, Lily and Taylen, who are the light of his life.
